A typical scene along Route 66. Many businesses and small towns died when the new interstates opened rerouting traffic away from these towns.

We sat out a rain cell headed our way here. There could have been a lot worse places to sit the rain out!

Cool Springs. A lonely old outpost where travelers use to stop for gas and refreshments on there long journey out west.

We stopped to discuss our route to the Skywalk.

We finally made it to the Skywalk after riding 14 miles on a dirt road.
It is 4000 ft down to the Colorado River.
If I step back about a foot it's a 4000 ft drop!
Jumping from here with a parachute sure would be fun!

From the Skywalk we walked out to the end of a point where we could see much more of the canyon.
This old tram used to bring ore buckets up from the Colorado River thousands of feet below.
This was a really cool place to sit!
